MARLBOROUGH, Mass., April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert Bean,
chief operating officer of Kubotek USA, Ed Bernard, CEO of
Bernard Mould, and industry consultant, speaker and author,
David Prawel, founder and president of Longview Advisors Inc.
will be speaking on a panel at the MoldMaking Expo 2006 on
April 25 at 9:15 a.m. at the Rock Financial Showplace (Novi
Exposition Center), Novi MI.
The session called "The Search for CAD Interoperability"
will be chaired by Bean. Panel members will address why CAD
interoperability continues to be a major productivity issue
across the manufacturing sector and discuss specific
implications for mold makers. A number of "real world"
solutions designed to help mold makers compete in today's
global supply chain will be offered.
MoldMaking Expo 2006 is the only event devoted exclusively
to showcasing technologies and strategies used in mold making
and rapid manufacturing. The conference will feature new
technologies and applications, networking opportunities with
colleagues, customers and prospects and product and process
solutions for mold makers.
"One of the most pervasive problems in the modern-day
manufacturing industry is a lack of interoperability between
CAD tools," said Bean. "Moldmakers have experienced this
challenge first-hand and its costing them significant
resources to address. The industry understands that imported
designs are difficult or impossible to modify. Simply
converting a CAD file to a different format doesn't capture
all the information that a mold designer or engineer needs in
order to complete the job. Fortunately, new technologies are
emerging to give moldmakers a competitive advantage."
Kubotek will also be exhibiting at the Expo. The company
will demonstrate a solution specifically created for
moldmakers to significantly shorten design time. Partnering
with Cornerstone Technology Inc., creator of the XMD(R)
(Expert Mold Designer) software, Kubotek will give conference
attendees a view into the productivity enhancements achieved
by an integrated KeyCreator(R) and XMD combination. Kubotek
will also showcase its new REALyze(TM) interoperability tools
developed to help engineers and designers understand and edit
"dumb" geometry. In an effort to streamline the design to
manufacturing process, Kubotek has introduced REALyze to help
CAD/CAM professionals share imported models between disparate
CAD systems. The REALyze toolset will complement and coexist
with popular CAD platforms.
